Geostatistical Properties of Fault Zones

Many examples of fault zones and their components as well as their architecture have been described under the general topic of 'Fault Zones' and 'Components of Faults.' We have pointed out in other places that just about every fault, perhaps with the exception of the initial phase of minute shearing of fractures which form originally as opening mode fractures, occur in zones. So, the topic of 'Geostatistical Properties of Faults' also covers the properties of fault zones to some degree just to be consistent with the earlier literature and the nomenclature therein. See the links for the distribution of fault dimensional properties and their scaling.
