Assemblages of Joints, Deformation Bands and Faults

Coexistence of joints, deformation bands, and faults has been described in the literature. In these cases, attention needs to be paid to the temporal and spatial relationships among these fracture types. All of the case studies in this Knowledgebase include various combination of fracture types. The Moab fault in Utah and the East Kaibab Monocline at or near the Utah-Arizona state line are two examples which are worth mentioning here. The spatial and temporal relationships among various fracture types in these are well documented in the original publications and are summarized in 'Case Studies.' Please see the links.
