| Fault Slip Distribution | |||||||
|
Slip is a general term for displacement discontinuity across a fault and it can be measured or defined in many ways, including net slip and separation. It is, of course, common to refer to strike-slip and dip-slip, which are based on the orientation of the slip direction with respect to the strike and dip of fault planes. These are illustrated under fault types. | |||||||
